Taking inspiration from one of Sebastian Lagues projects, our team added to his incomplete codebase to create a simulated ecosystem with rabbits and foxes. This was for a university class and involved us infusing artificial emotions into the simulation so we could analyse the results.
The emotions chosen were happiness and courage, the ecosystem would run until collapse and we would take a mean average of the rabbits genetic information throughout the ecosystems lifespan so we could plot it onto a graph. This gave us insight and we could theorise on how artificial evolution was occurring based on the agents starting emotion level and external factors such as spawn position and terrain.
